A Day Trip To Mikumi National Park /Little serengeti

Mikumi National Park is often called the "Serengeti of the South" due to its sweeping open horizons and abundant wildlife.  The park is home to four of the "Big Five" (lions, leopards, elephants, and buffaloes), missing only the rhino. It is particularly famous for its large herds of elephants and buffaloes, as well as a high density of giraffes and zebras. 
Best Time to Visit: The Dry Season (late June to October) is ideal because vegetation is thin and animals congregate around water sources like the Mkata River.1

Tour Itinerary

A day trip to Mikumi  can be arranged by flight from Zanzibar or by SGR train from Dar es salaam

Here is the day plan: 

• 05:30 AM – Flight Prep: Transfer from your hotel to Zanzibar International Airport.
• 07:00 AM – Takeoff: Board a short, 1-hour bush flight directly to the Mikumi Airstrip.
• 08:15 AM – Safari Launch: Our guide will meet you at the airstrip. since  you will land inside the park game drive will starts immediately.
• 12:00 PM – Hot Lunch at Mikumi wildlife lodge
• 01:30 PM – Scenic Exploration: Visit the Millennium Area for a high concentration of wildlife and birdwatching.
• 03:30 PM – Final Views: Head back toward the airstrip, making final stops for photos.

• 04:00 PM – Return Flight: Board your flight back to Zanzibar, arriving around 05:20 PM for a hotel transfer.
